Sommaire
1. Who is it for?
- Are you a Mauritian national or resident?
→ These special offers are for you - Please note: not applicable to premium visa holders.
2. Residents’ rates
This is the great deal that all locals know about.
When you arrive in Mauritius, you may not know it, but there are often 2 rates that apply:
- the tourist rate
- the resident rate
→ Bring your resident permit or Mauritian identity card.
4. My tips
- The Day Pass
One of our favorite things: Spend a day at the hotel and enjoy all the hotel’s resident benefits (meals, pool…) with or without a room.
You’ll feel like you’re on vacation when it’s really just the weekend!
- Always ask if they offer a resident rate
Before you book a hotel or a boat trip, always ask if they offer a resident rate – you’d be surprised.
It could be a kitesurfing lesson, a visit to Casela or the Odysseo oceanarium… so don’t hesitate to ask.
You may be asked to provide a copy of your resident card when booking a hotel stay.
- More offers in low season
For hotel stays, you’ll have more choice and availability in low season.
And yes, in high season, hotels will be swamped by tourists and you won’t be able to stay there at the resident rate. Choose the low season, when hotels will be less crowded and more enjoyable.
5. How about Rodrigues?
Air Mauritius offers discounted airfares for Mauritian citizens and residents to Rodrigues.
Benefit from a 30% discount on your plane tickets.
