Snow Village in Mauritius: a winter break to enjoy with children

When you think of Mauritius, you immediately imagine sunshine, beaches and tropical heat. And yet… there is a place where you can enjoy a completely different, almost unexpected experience: Snow Village, located in Tribeca Mall.

I had the opportunity to discover this space with my children, and I wanted to share my honest and transparent feedback with you, so that you know exactly what to expect. Here is my feedback on Snow Village.

What exactly is Snow Village?

Snow Village is an immersive space where you can find real snow, a temperature close to 4°C, and a setting inspired by winter and Christmas: snowmen, polar bears, penguins, sleighs…

Created in 2023, Snow Village is not a short-lived experience, contrary to what many people think.
👉 It is open all year round, making it an activity that can be enjoyed even outside the Christmas period.

📍 Where?
Snow Village is located on the first floor of Tribeca Mall, inside Monde de la Maison.

Who is it for?

Let’s be clear:
This place is designed more for young children.

The space is relatively small, and the experience lasts about twenty minutes on average.
But for children who have never seen snow, this is often more than enough.

As for us, the children loved:

  • touching the snow
  • playing in the snow
  • discovering a world completely different from their everyday life in Mauritius

It’s simple, fun, and suitable for children aged 2 and up. However, it’s important to remain vigilant with very young children and protect their little hands to avoid any risks associated with the cold.

What you need to know before you go

A few important points to avoid unpleasant surprises:

  • ❄️ Temperature: approximately 4°C
  • 🧥 Dress warmly, children and parents (jackets, jumpers, socks, closed shoes).
  • ⏱️ Duration: about 20 minutes
  • 💰 Price: RS 150 per person (3€)

It’s not a “long” activity, but rather a fun and original break during a trip to the shopping centre.

Moka Mocha Tribeca Mall

The perfect tip after Snow Village

Right next to Snow Village is Moka Mocha, an excellent option for extending your outing.

After the cold:

  • hot chocolate for the children
  • a nice cup of coffee for the parents
  • and, for those with a sweet tooth, pastries are available as an option

👉 A perfect transition after the thermal shock, and an enjoyable moment for everyone.
It’s also a very nice place for co-working.

What about private events?

Snow Village can also be used for private events, including:

  • Children’s birthday parties

An original option for those looking for something different, without necessarily organising something too complex.

My opinion in complete transparency

Snow Village is not a major attraction compared to European ice bars or large-scale parks.
But that is not its purpose.

👉 It is a small experiment, simple, accessible, and above all suitable for young children.
👉 For a first experience of snow in Mauritius, it’s enjoyable, fun and effective.
👉 And combined with a coffee break right after, it makes for a pleasant family outing, especially during the school holidays..
