Updated October 23, 2026: Web’in Mauritius now has its own website and members area.

What is Web’In Mauritius?

Web’In Mauritius is a network of French-speaking entrepreneurs, created in 2019 by Florent Fouque.

The goal: to organise informal meetups to exchange ideas about web businesses and related topics — tax, tools, financial structures, digital strategy…

The group brings together three types of profiles:

  • Entrepreneurs with an online business (courses, SaaS, marketplace…)
  • Entrepreneurs with physical businesses who use the web to grow their activity
  • Project holders currently building an online business

The group now has its official website: webinmauritius.com.

In short: if you have a connection to the web, near or far, you have your place here. Group membership is free; only the meetups are paid, to cover their organisation (€50 per evening, €70 for two).

How does a meetup work?

Meetups take place roughly once every 2 months, in the north of the island — at restaurant Kalatua.

Each evening unfolds in three stages:

  • 5:30 – 7:30 pm: Aperitif
Time to catch up with regulars and meet new arrivals, in a relaxed bring-and-share atmosphere.
  • 7:30 – 8:30 pm: Member presentation
An entrepreneur from the group takes the floor to share their experience, tools and results. Topics are concrete and specific — no theory, just real-world insights. A 15 to 20-minute Q&A follows the presentation.
  • 8:30 pm: Dinner (optional)
For those who stay, dinner continues with a slightly unusual format: seats are rotated at each course. A very effective way to meet all participants in a single evening.

Participation: €50 per evening (€70 for two). Dinner is optional, priced separately, and settled directly at the restaurant.

The WhatsApp group

Between meetups, conversations continue on a WhatsApp group with more than 280 active members. Mauritius tax, digital tools, financial structures, banking recommendations, contact sharing… It’s dense, useful and often invaluable — especially when you first arrive on the island and have a thousand practical questions. The group’s most useful answers are now also gathered on the website, in the members area.

New: a website and a members area

Since October 2026, the group brings together on a dedicated website what was previously scattered: the charter, the member list, the co-optation form, and the answers to the most frequently asked questions in the group.

In the members area, you’ll find:

  • A directory of active members, with their business and website
  • Meetups: sign-up for upcoming evenings and a history of past presentations
  • Hot topics: the group’s answers on payment processors, tax, visas
  • A directory of service providers recommended by members
  • A list of the most-cited tools in group conversations
  • Wim, the group’s AI assistant, trained on 7 years of conversations and the latest Mauritius Finance Bill

The area is reserved for members. First login is done via the WhatsApp number used in the group. Find the group at webinmauritius.com.

How to join Web’In Mauritius?

The group works by co-optation: there is no open registration. Each member has their own personal co-optation link, which they send to an entrepreneur they want to bring in. That person fills in their application and accepts the charter online; the member can then track their status.

To join, you must be a web entrepreneur, have an active website, and be a resident of Mauritius. To find out more: webinmauritius.com.
